Architects & builders are often frustrated trying to balance their design restraints with adequate ventilation & extraction choices. More traditional ventilation systems are not suited & not energy efficient while many HRV/ERV systems are large, taking up valuable space in an already tight design footprint.

Airstream HRV was re-engineered to meet NZ’s very different conditions & is the smallest most efficient heat recovery unit. In most cases there is no requirement to have to drop the ceiling to accommodate the unit. It’s small size & dropdown ceiling hatch provides service access from within the room.

Recover consumed energy efficiently. Airflows are driven by two independently controlled high pressure EC fans. Supply air is filtered before entering the building to remove dust and pollens. The highly efficient core exchanges the heat energy, recovering up to 80% of the heat from the out going stale air. The system is controlled with EVOAQ software, environment sensors and the fan management system.

HANDS FREE EXTRACTION

We built our own .

In early 2020 we went looking for a solution for heat recovery ventilation suitable for modern New Zealand apartments and townhouses after requests from some of our clients.  We had a specific list of requirements; it had to be smart enough to do more than just heat recovery, it had to work in all types of NZ regions, it had to be small enough to fit the tight design requirements of apartments and townhouses and it had to be simple for the home owner to use.

We couldn’t find an HRV that could meet our spec – so we built our own.  We worked with the engineers at Evolution FX, NZ’s leading ventilation software & fan designers, to design what is now Airstream. We added individually controllable high pressure, low energy EC fans, smart extraction sensors, bespoke fan management software (FMS) and found the balance between size and efficiency to create the ideal solution for New Zealand conditions & builds.  Airstream is now being specified in many upcoming apartment and townhouse builds.  We are continuing to improve Airstream and we are always looking at further ways to lift the level of air quality in  modern buildings.
