Positive pressure ventilation systems are designed to supply filtered air into the building.
When done at the correct rates this air dilutes and removes the moist and polluted air present in the home. Air is taken from the ceiling space or where possible from outside of your home.
Positive pressure ventilation systems are good for reducing condensation and moisture. Moisture stuck in the building is the main contributor to mould and mildew growth. A sign of trapped moisture is condensation on windows. Often referred to as Crying Windows.
We recommend EVOAQ smart extractor fans as part of the home ventilation system.

EVOAQ have ventilation fans and systems to suit any house.
From single room systems to multi room, multi level homes. We can configure a system to meet your requirements.
-
Balanced ventilation is the attempt to have the same amount of air coming in as is being extracted. The reason for this is to avoid over pressurizing the building. It is easy to think of air acting like water running through your house. Moving from the incoming air towards the extraction point. This could be your bathroom or kitchen extraction fans. We call this de-centralised ventilation. Rather than having a single unit doing both supply air and extraction, we choose to use different fans.
-
It is recommended that all habitable spaces are ventilated. Habitable spaces are bedrooms, offices and living rooms. The places you spend most of your time. This helps to keep the pressure even throughout the house. Some ventilation suppliers only add air to hallways.

Heat recovery (HRV) ventilation systems use a special core within the fan box. This core exchanges the heat energy from within the house with the air coming in. The two air sources don't touch each other just exchange some heat with each other.
You can experience this by wrapping your hands around a cardboard tube and blowing the tube. You will feel the warmth from your breath transferred to your hands without touching the air.
Heat recovery ventilation (HRV) and energy recovery ventilation (ERV) work best in very tightly sealed houses. Often using a decentralized ventilation system will create better air quality for most homes.
HRV and ERV still require a properly sized heat pump for heating and cooling.
HRV's are generally suited for dry environments. ERVs are best in humid environments. Depending on your local climate zone, we can help select the best recovery system for your home.

We recommend changing your EVOAQ, SmartVent, HRV, and DVS filters every 12 months. This protects your fan and ensures your air stays clean from dust, dirt and pollen.
